Art, Music and Connection in Melgund Township<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The final preparations are underway for this weekend’s highly anticipated music jam at the Dyment Recreation Hall, taking place tomorrow, Saturday, September 6, 2025<\/strong>. Musicians from across the region, including talent from Sioux Lookout<\/strong>, Dryden<\/strong>, and Ignace<\/strong>, are setting up their equipment for what promises to be a day of great music and community celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This weekend’s event is made possible with generous support from the Ontario Arts Council’s Multi and Inter-Arts Projects program<\/a><\/strong>. The program’s goal is to support the creation and presentation of multi- and inter-arts activities by professional Ontario artists and groups, making events like this a reality for communities across the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, running from 12 to 5 p.m.<\/strong>, is more than just a music jam. Attendees can also explore an arts and crafts sale<\/strong>and participate in presentations and discussions about the year’s art projects and programs. This collaborative gathering aims to bring together artists and community members for a day of shared creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exciting event is deeply rooted in\u00a0community-based leadership<\/strong>\u00a0and collaboration.\u00a0The Art Borups Corners collective works closely with a dedicated team of artists, cultural leaders, and research partners who have been part of the program’s development. This year’s program saw participation from a broad spectrum of artists, including Indigenous artists, women, artists with disabilities, Francophone artists, as well as youth and seniors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
