The wait is finally over at the Art Borups Corners Land Lab! Even though a stubborn Northwestern Ontario cold snap held them back for almost two weeks, our raspberry canes are officially waking up and pushing out their first bright green leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We were starting to get a little anxious checking the patches every morning, but the journey has officially begun. Now in its third year, the raspberry patches are a huge point of pride for our program, blending local agricultural research with a fun, hands-on project that everyone in the community can get behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because the weather dealt us a chilly hand early on, tracking their progress is going to be more interesting than ever this season. It\u2019s a live, interactive way for volunteers and neighbours to stay connected to the patch, whether they’re helping out in person or watching from home. We\u2019re keeping our fingers crossed for a warm summer ahead, and we honestly cannot wait to see what this year’s harvest looks like when those sweet berries finally arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
