We are gathering to highlight the incredible talents of makers\, growers\, and creators from right here across Melgund Township\, Borups Corners\, and Dyment. \n\n\n\nYou can come out to shop\, show off your own handmade goods\, or just catch up with neighbours over the holiday. It is going to be a fun\, relaxed summer market for the whole family. \n\n\n\nEvent Details\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDate: Wednesday\, July 1st\, 2026 (Canada Day)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTime: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation: Dyment Recreation Hall and Park\, Melgund Township\, Northwestern Ontario\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNow Calling All Local Vendors\, Artisans\, and Makers\n\n\n\nWe are officially looking for local backyard growers\, traditional crafters\, vintage collectors\, and hobbyists to fill the hall and park. If you make it\, bake it\, grow it\, or dig it up\, we want you to join us. \n\n\n\nWe love supporting our local makers and keeping things accessible\, so there is absolutely no fee for vendor tables. You can choose between an indoor table space or an outdoor tent spot. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Canada Day in Melgund Township with an afternoon of live music\, local food\, arts and community spirit at the Dyment Recreation Hall and Complex on July 1. \nHosted by the Local Services Board of Melgund Recreation Committee and Melgund Recreation\, Arts and Culture\, the Canada Day Festival will run from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.\, welcoming residents and visitors from across Northwestern Ontario for a fun-filled day of entertainment and celebration. \nThis year’s event will feature live performances by Gerry and Tanya McArthur and Walter and Friends\, creating a lively soundtrack for an afternoon of community gathering and Canada Day festivities. Visitors can also enjoy popular favourites from the Cook Shack\, including hamburgers\, hot dogs\, fries and refreshments. \nThe festival will include an artists and vendors marketplace showcasing local makers\, creators and small businesses. Tables are still available for artists\, crafters and vendors interested in participating and connecting with festival-goers from across the region. \nWhether you’re looking for live music\, local art\, great food or a family-friendly Canada Day event in Northwestern Ontario\, the Melgund Township Canada Day Festival offers something for everyone. \nThe event takes place July 1 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dyment Recreation Hall and Complex in Melgund Township. DESCRIPTION:Celebrating Parks Day: Everyone Outdoors Together Food & Park Visioning\nArt Borups Corners is hosting a community BBQ and participatory park visioning event at the Dyment Recreation Hall in Borups Corners as part of Everyone Outdoors Together\, a national initiative led by the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) for Parks Day\, July 18\, 2026. \nEveryone Outdoors Together invites people across Canada to step outside on the same day\, share time in their local greenspaces\, and take part in a shared national moment rooted in parks\, recreation\, and community connection. In Borups Corners\, this national invitation becomes a local gathering at the Dyment Recreation Hall and its surrounding greenspace. \nThe evening centres on a community BBQ where people can eat\, listen to music\, and spend time together outdoors in an open\, informal setting. The pavilion and greenspace function as one shared public space where gathering\, food\, and activity flow together. \nAlongside the BBQ\, participants are invited to take part in hands-on creative activities including drawing\, mapping\, and storytelling. Through these activities\, people contribute to a collective understanding of how local parks and greenspaces function today and how they can evolve into more useful\, inclusive\, and engaging public spaces shaped directly by community input.
