DESCRIPTION:Storytelling and Oral History\nThis week\, our exploration of oral history projects continues\, and we’re thrilled to present a dedicated professional development opportunity designed to deepen your understanding and skills in this vital field. This is a great opportunity for Northern and Northwestern Ontario artists\, collectives\, and groups to immerse themselves in the art and science of preserving community narratives. Throughout this engaging session\, we’ll delve into different approaches to storytelling\, master effective interviewing techniques\, and learn best practices for how to store and archive invaluable community history. \nJoin us to develop the practical expertise needed to initiate\, manage\, and safeguard your own oral history projects effectively\, ensuring the longevity of powerful local stories for generations to come. \n\nAbout the Program\nWelcome to our 2025 Summer Arts Internship and Mentorship program. Our core artistic idea is to empower community artists by merging traditional knowledge with contemporary digital technologies\, fostering sustainable self-employment and community-driven arts sector development. \nEach week will have a different theme\, ranging from digital arts\, tools and technologies\, to administration skills\, like grant writing\, proposal writing\, budgeting and advertising. It’s open to all\, and we meet both in-person and online most weeks.
