Family Day in Ontario is a cherished mid-winter break, and across the province, communities come together to celebrate with special events just like the one recently held in Melgund. This year, Melgund’s Family Day, which took place on Sunday, February 23rd, was a resounding success, drawing a large crowd with its exciting mix of fire, food, and fireworks.
Although Family Day in Ontario usually falls earlier in February, demonstrating the flexibility sometimes needed due to our winter weather, Melgund’s event was rescheduled from earlier in the week because of extreme cold. This weekend, the weather was delightful.

Fittingly, the fun-filled day also served as a wonderful conclusion to National Kindness Week 2025.
Sincere gratitude is extended to the Local Services Board of Melgund, community board members, and all the dedicated volunteers who worked hard to host such a fantastic and memorable community event.
