In Photos: Nanisiniq. Ten years later …

Tony Eetak re-connects with Jordan Konek, both from Arviat, Nunavut on campus at the University of Winnipeg during the Inuit Studies Conference earlier this month. Ten years ago this October, Jordan was a student with the original Nanisiniq Arviat History Project. This project draws on many of those early experiences.

Learning about careers in Media with CBC North

A special and unexpected opportunity to explore careers in media came while we were all attending a closing session for the Inuit Studies Conference. Our project’s participating artists were able to get hands-on with CBC North’s Pauline Pemik and Jaison Empson as they interviewed the youth for CBC News and CBC Igalaaq.

A visit to the Winnipeg Art Gallery

In April 6-10, 2022 we visited the Winnipeg Art Gallery for the day to have meetings for our digital incubator and cultural entrepreneurship projects. Joining us for this special day was me, Eric, Anoee, Jr. and his son Nangmalik and Jamie Bell along with Dr. Olaf Kuhlke from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
