Our Arts and Creative Leadership programming is designed to empower individuals and communities through innovative, participatory approaches to art, culture, and leadership. Participants are encouraged to explore and develop their leadership potential while engaging in hands-on artistic practices that reflect their unique cultural identities and experiences.
In Winnipeg, Manitoba, an exciting arts initiative is reshaping the way Indigenous youth interact with the arts and climate action. Our People Our Climate, a participatory arts and storytelling program, has left a profound impact on communities across Manitoba and beyond.
We’re thrilled to share our 2023-2024 Activities, Impacts, and Outcomes Report! This year has been transformative, as we continued rebuilding our facilities, expanded our arts-based programming, and deepened our focus on climate entrepreneurship and creative leadership.
This project supported relationship development, consultation, and engagement activities with the University of the Arctic (UArctic). It explored participatory arts-based food security, northern supply chain research, and entrepreneurship training/mentorship opportunities. The youth-led initiative engaged the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, University of Victoria and the UArctic Thematic Network on Local-Scale Planning, Climate Change, and Resilience.
We’re thrilled to announce that our arts incubator program is powered by the OpenAI Researcher Access Program this year! This groundbreaking partnership is helping us merge traditional Indigenous art with cutting-edge AI technologies, creating new pathways for creative expression and cultural storytelling. Through AI tools and hands-on mentorship, our participants are exploring new ways to innovate, collaborate, and share their stories with the world.
