The course emphasizes the importance of AI literacy for artists, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to use these technologies to expand their artistic practice.
This course was originally piloted in 2022 as part of our original digital arts and entrepreneurship incubator program funded by the Canada Council for the Arts Digital Greenhouse and we’re delighted to make it available again with thanks to the OpenAI Researcher Access Program.
Throughout the course, learners will also delve into ethical considerations surrounding AI, such as questions of authorship, originality, and fairness. By combining theory with practical exercises like experimenting with AI-driven art tools and creating simple AI-based projects, learners will be encouraged to explore how AI can enhance their own creative work. Whether they are interested in visual art, music, or multimedia, learners will discover how AI can be a powerful tool for artistic expression, opening up new possibilities and inspiring innovative approaches to art in the digital age.
